# Override notification settings for one customer

> Customize channels, lead days, and before-delivery timing without changing company defaults.

Use a customer override for a genuine exception. Keep inherited settings when the customer should follow company-wide communication behavior.

## What you can override

* Before-delivery email and SMS
* After-delivery email and SMS
* Accounting-provider invoice email or SMS where supported
* Sweeply invoice-ready email and SMS
* Before-delivery lead days
* Presence-required and non-presence timing profiles

<Steps>
  <Step title="Open customer notification settings">
    Open the customer and select the notification preferences.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Review inherited values">

  </Step>

  </Step>

  <Step title="Save and review the impact">
    Expanding the effective lead window or enabling a rule can queue missing reminders for upcoming scheduled orders.
  </Step>
</Steps>

## Return to company defaults

Use **Use organization default** for one timing profile or **Use all organization defaults** to remove the customer's complete override set.

<Note>
  A customer cannot override a globally disabled email or SMS channel. Enable the channel at company level first if it should be available anywhere.
</Note>

<Warning>
  A shorter lead window can remove date-based planning protection from visits that have not been notified. A current customer notification remains a separate protection reason.
