# Use Inbox and order comments

> Review shared operational handoffs and understand how order comments differ from customer messages.

Inbox is a shared list of operational handoffs for the office. Order comments are part of an order's operational history. Neither one is a customer notification.

## What appears in Inbox

Inbox can contain:

* Planning issues that require review
* Address-data problems
* Data-migration follow-up
* Product and operational updates
* A field-to-office handoff created from a Daily Program comment

Use source, severity, and read-state filters to find the relevant work.

## Marking an item read

**Mark read** acknowledges that the handoff was reviewed. It does not automatically fix the linked property, change the order, rerun Planning, or contact the customer.

## Order comments

Comments provide concise operational context on one order. A comment submitted from Daily Program is stored in the order activity and creates an unread informational Inbox item in the same action.

If the comment is later deleted from the order, its delivered Inbox item remains.
