# Configure company planning settings

> Choose the protected planning window, automatic planning horizon, and whether Planning may use flexible working hours.

Use company planning settings to control which dates automatic Planning may change, how many weeks it prepares automatically, and whether it may use flexible working time.

## Understand the settings

| Setting                                    | Effect                                                                                                                                                    |
| ------------------------------------------ | --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- |
| **Days protected from automatic planning** | Protects today and the selected number of additional days from automatic placement. Customer promises and manual route locks remain separate protections. |
| **Automatic planning horizon**             | Sets how many weeks, including the current week, Sweeply prepares and plans automatically. You can still plan a later week manually.                      |
| **Use flexible working hours**             | Allows Planning to use the extra minutes configured under Availability when ordinary working hours cannot fit all visits.                                 |

  <Step title="Open Planning settings">
    Go to **Settings** > **Planning**. You need permission to update organization settings.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Choose the protected days">
    Enter a whole number from 0 to 30. A value of 0 allows automatic placement from tomorrow.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Choose the automatic horizon">
    Enter 1 to 12 weeks, including the current week.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Decide whether to use flexible hours">
    Enable the option only when the flexible minutes configured for team members are available for ordinary planning.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Save and plan again">
    Save the settings. They apply the next time Planning runs; saving alone does not move visits.
  </Step>

<Warning>
  If the protected period covers every date inside the automatic horizon, Planning cannot place new visits until dates become available or the settings change.
