# Set work speed and understand visit duration

> Adjust planned visit time for a person or a team using a shared estimate for one person working at 100%.

Use **Work speed (%)** to adjust how much time Planning allows for a visit. Set it for a member working alone or for a whole team.

The task estimates describe the work for one person at 100%. Sweeply adds the task estimates for the visit, then adjusts that total using the assigned person's or team's work speed.

| Work speed | A visit with 60 minutes of standard time |
| - | - |
| 50% | 120 minutes in the plan |
| 100% | 60 minutes in the plan |
| 150% | 40 minutes in the plan |
| 200% | 30 minutes in the plan |

The resulting visit time is rounded up to a whole minute. Driving time is separate and does not become shorter when work speed increases.

## Change work speed

You need permission to update the relevant member or team.

<Steps>
  <Step title="Choose who performs the work">
    For work done alone, go to **Settings** > **Members** and edit the person. For shared visits, go to **Settings** > **Teams** and edit the team.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Set Work speed (%)">
    Enter a positive whole-number percentage. Use 100% when the standard time already matches the person or team. Choose the team's percentage explicitly; member count and individual percentages are not added together.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Save and review upcoming visits">
    Save the setting, then open **Planning**. Review the affected weeks and replan eligible visits when their allocated time should change.
  </Step>
</Steps>

<Check>
  When a visit is newly assigned or replanned, its planned duration reflects the chosen work speed. The underlying task estimates remain unchanged.
</Check>

## Existing visits and staffing changes

Saving a new work speed does not immediately change existing visit times or durations. Saved visits retain the duration they were planned with until replanning or an explicit manual planning change replaces it. Existing protections for customer promises and manually controlled routes still apply.

A team's percentage stays the same when people join or leave, including when only one person remains. Review the setting yourself when the team's expected pace changes.

## If the time looks wrong

Check the task estimates, whether the visit belongs to a person or a team, and whether it still uses a previously saved plan. An individual setting is not used for visits assigned to that person's team.

Work speed is a planning setting you choose. It is not an employee performance score or an automatically measured personal rate.
